We knew as soon as he was born that his potential was enormous. His head looks exactly like the photos I've seen of his famous black grandfather, Wolf Den's Othello. His great grandfathers aren’t too shabby either....Pperuvian Camilio, Pperuvian Vengador, Peruvian Geronimo, and Pperuvian Caligula. A gorgeous head, perfect proportions, and bright, consistently crimpy bay black fleece, with outstanding density and uniformity. We can find absolutely no white fibers in his fleece.
Sable halter trained in just a couple of sessions, and is a joy to work with. He has been a consistant winner in the show ring as well as in fleece competitions. See his track record listed below. His father, Wolf Den’s Steiner, also has had an exemplary show record, including seven blue ribbons, in halter and fleece. Steiner even won a Reserve Championship at the age of 64 months!
Sable began his breeding career at an early age, and took to his work like an old pro. It’s such a good thing to have a herdsire who instinctively knows his job, and is also so easy to handle. He now has three confirmed pregnancies, with the first ones due this fall.
We would never consider selling Sable except that we own his full brother, also black, who shows the same outstanding characteristics. If you are looking to add color to your herd without sacrificing quality of fleece, Sable is your man.
