Avatar's Keystone of Rockyfield
Owned by Prairie’s Edge Farm and Alpacas at Rockyfield Farm
ARI # 31239547
We are really looking forward to seeing Keystone's continued development. We liked him as a youngster and co-own him with Alpacas of Rockyfield Farm. Keystone was born on their farm and we are pleased to partner with them on this up and coming young stud. In his first fall of showing Keystone has already received a Color Championship, two Reserve Color Championships, represented in both halter and fleece showings.
Keystone's coloration is a light medium brown, but tips out on his ears grey; not surprising when you consider his dam is WAA Lady Blossom, a dark rose grey (roan) female who was bred to the well known rose grey, Avatar. When looking at Keystone's fleece, it is evident he is showing signs of excellence. We will see how his second fleece finishes growing in, but it appears to be exceptional with strong organization.
Keystone's first fleece had a long staple, carrying very high frequency character througout, with medium amplitude, above average density and a lot of brightness. The fiber held itself in beautiful sections and was consistent from back to front, top to bottom. Yes, even up the neck and into the top knot. Keystone second fleece, growing in now, is a solidly and uniformly colored medium brown, and is well organized and very soft handling. A truly beautiful and well structured fleece.
