We bought Jet Stream when he was just six months old. Why so young? Because we
recognized that his dense, lustrous, independently locked fleece was superior to any
alpaca we had seen, including our other champions. We were even more impressed
with Jet Stream after he was sheared and we saw his impressive re-growth. In
addition to his outstanding fleece characteristics, Jet Stream has correct proportions,
large bone and excellent coverage.
From the beginning, Jet's density stood out. Our thoughts were confirmed by a skin
biopsy which showed that he has an average density of 63.5 follicles per square mm
of skin and a secondary to primary (s/p) ratio of 10.6 to 1. Follicle testing is
relatively new but average density is around 35-40 sq mm and the average s/p ratio
is 6/7 to 1.
Proof is now on the ground! Jet Stream's second crop of crias has hit the show ring
and they are consistently outstanding. He has dramatically improved the lock and
density of every dam he has been bred to. Most of his crias are born with a greasy
feel to their fleece and have twisted locks, heavy coverage and above average
density. One of his daughters, Look At Me, is twice as dense as her dam and also the
finest in our herd with an AFD of 19 and % above 30 at 0.5%! Her full histogram is

******News Flash******
Jet Stream won Get of Sire at the 2008 IAOBA, the only show we entered him in last
Spring. Although the show was small, the competition was great- Jet Stream beat
the highly promoted full Accoyo, Somethin's Up. The judge noted that both groups
had great density but placed Jet Stream's get in first place based on the uniformity
and definition of lock and a higher degree of luster. We are very proud of this win
and see it as proof of his ability to pass his superior characteristics on to his progeny.
