The Extreme Progeny Auction is a unique event in that it is not only a sale but also a herdsire competition. Participating farms are required to enter 2 offspring of a single herdsire, who is then eligible for competition. At the end of the sale, the Light and Dark Extreme Herdsire of the Year will be determined, based on the average sales price of his offspring. 1% of the sale proceeds will be awarded and divided amongst the auction lots of the Light and Dark Extreme Herdsires of the year. This will be an exciting auction and is guaranteed, by it's very nature, to be filled with top quality alpacas.
For
this years competition, we have selected two outstanding Hotazel progeny
and their dams to represent our farm. Hotazel is our dark brown Champion,
co-owned with Ravada Hills Alpaca Farm. His crias have been consistently
outstanding and have done consistently well in the show ring. The
first to hit the ring have taken blue in level five shows such as
the Indiana Invitational and have always been among the top of their
classes at tough shows such as the Futurity and Buckeye. We're especially
proud of WFAM Hot-Az-Ice, who beat several other Champion alpacas
(including several full accoyos) to win Champion at his very first
show-the National Alpaca Sweepstakes! Hotazel is pictured at left.
Lot # 16:
Morning
Mist is a 1/4 Accoyo white dam bred to Hotazel who sells with her
dark fawn show quality Hotazel daughter, Mystic Sprite. Morning Mist
is an excellent proven mother with five carefree deliveries behind
her. She inherited strong color genetics from her sire, Great Balls
of Fire, and her grand dam, true black Federicka. Morning Mist has
proven her ability to throw both quality and color with crias ranging
from light fawn to a rich medium brown. In fact, her color genetics
are so strong that she has even thrown fawns when bred to full Accoyos.
Her previous son is pictured at left.
DD
Hotazel's Mystic Sprite is bright and inquisitive with correct conformation.
She carries herself with a proud show girl stance. Her medium fawn
fleece is uniform with high luster and a cool slick handle. Her locks
fall in small twists close to the skin and her face and leg coverage
is outstanding. She has definitely inherited her sire's head and laid
back attitude. Her fleece is pictured above left.
Lot # 55

Our second three in one packages consists of Tizzy, a full Peruvian proven dam and her full Peruvian Hotazel daughter. Tizzy has been re-bred to Hotazel for a Spring '09 cria. Tizzy herself is a very correct Rasheed daughter, who has inherited his typical large bone and extreme coverage. Because Rasheed's breedings have been limited and his sire was exported to Australia soon after his birth, Tizzy's genetics are somewhat rare.
Tizzy
sells with her female cria, Hissy Fit. Hissy Fit has extremely dense
bone and exhibited outrageous leg coverage. From day one, she appeared
to be standing on tree trunks. Her blanket has a cool slick handle,
high luster and small tightly twisted locks. Her legs and face are
a subtle rose gray and, although she is registered as medium fawn,
she is actually a taupey shade that doesn't exist on the color chart.
It will be interesting to watch her color develop. Whether she remains
fawn or turns rose gray, we would expect her to be in your show string
once weaned. Her fleece is pictured above left.
